This course is intended to provide students with a comprehensive knowledge of most technical aspects, operations, and applications of first/second/third/fourth generation and future cellular mobile and personal communication technology. 

The course will introduce technologies and underlying principles of wireless communications; building blocks of wireless networks; elementary examination of the science and technology of wireless communications including radio signal propagation, radio channel modeling, interference-limited communications,  coding,  modulation,  anti-fading techniques like transmitting and receive antenna diversity,  equalization, etc.;  essential functions of all cellular telephone systems like frequency re-use, cellular hierarchy, sectorization, handoff and power control, etc. are discussed.
