Given the fact that all philosophies must of necessity deal with the problem of evil and how to overcome it the aims and content of the module “Philosophy of Christian Education” aims to:

  • Overview ancient philosophies and how education was viewed by different philosophers of Ancient Rome, earliest civilization, Greeks, Jewish, China, India, education and other Asian philosophers and the way they viewed education.
  • Help students understand what Philosophy means in terms of its root (Philos—Sophia).
  • Get proper meaning of what Wisdom is in the perspective of secular philosophy and in the perspective of the Bible (Job 28:28). In the end, the student should understand that to restore God’s image in him/her is the ultimate aim of this course of Philosophy of education. Thus, all educational issues should be dealt with by having this end in mind.
