This is a study of the historical development of education and Christian education. The meaning and concepts of education; the source of knowledge; the aspects of teaching and learning process as explained by the Bible, the Spirit of Prophecy and world philosophers who contributed to Education and Christian education including Socrates, Plato, St. Augustine,    Thomas Aquinas, Ellen G. White (her books and writings are referred to as “spirit of prophecy” and other educators who influenced the Christian philosophical thoughts and practices.  The course centers on the explanations of the aspects of the teaching-learning process as given by the philosophers who influenced Education and the Biblical and Spirit of Prophecy explanations of the same.  Such aspects include the metaphysics, epistemology, axiology, philosophy, and education, aims of education, school, teacher, humankind, learner, curriculum, and methods of teaching, discipline, and work. Traditional and modern philosophies will be reviewed during this course.
